Step 1 : Add your site to Google Search Console
To add your site you need to login in to Google Search Console.
Then paste your blog url and click on continue
I prefer you to choose URL prefix it will allows you with multiple verifications methods.
Now it’s time to verify your blog ownership.
There are many ways by which you can verify your ownership.
I will share two simple ways by which you can verify your ownership within a minute.
1. HTML File : You have to download a particular HTML file and uplaod it to your site.
2. HTML Code : You have to copy a HTML code and paste it in your <head> section of your homepage code.

Step 2 : Set a Preferred Domain
Setting up a Preferred Domain is upon you which type of url you want to show in search Results.
For example : Google will see your URLs as :
This will not impact on your SEO. Also I personally use URLs without “www”.
So the version you will choose will show up in the Search Results.

Step 3 : Choose your Target Country
Google helps you to target a specific country in which country you want to rank your blog.
Google said, more information you give the more better results you will get. Yoi can target a country by follwing simple steps :
1. Go to Search Traffic in Google Search Console Dashboard
2. Click on International Targeting
3. Click on Country Tab
4. Check the Target Users in box
5. Select your country which you want to target.

Step 4 : Link with Google Analytics
Have you ever noticed in your Google Analytics organically searched keyword shows “not provided” instead of searched keyword.
The best part is you can get the keyword data by linking your Google Search Console with Google Analytics.
Open your Google Analytics and click on admin button in the bottom of left menu.
Click on the Property Settings
Scroll down until you find “Adjust Search Console” button. Click on it !

Step 5 : Add Sitemap
Sitemap is the most important file of your website. It helps google to crawl your website and index it in Google.
You need to generate and submit sitemap in Google Search Console for better Rankings.
If you don’t have sitemap you can easily generate with the help of Yoast Seo plugin in WordPress.
If you don’t use Yoast go to www.example.com/sitemap.xml you will find your sitemap there if not you have to generate one.

Go to the new version of Google Search Console
Click on Sitemap
Paste your URL and click on submit
